Deborah J. Griles Debbie is a native of Halifax County.
A graduate of Halifax County High School, she earned a B.S. in Business
Administration from Averett University and a Masters in Education-
Supervision and Administration from Longwood University. After a career
in manufacturing supervision with Burlington Industries, she taught
English at Scottsburg Elementary School and Halifax County Middle
School. She was appointed Associate Principal at Halifax County
High School in 2000 and served in that capacity until her retirement in
2012. Debbie was mayor of the Town of Clover, chairman of
the Clover Planning Commission, and was awarded a lifetime membership in
the Clover Volunteer Fire Department. She is currently a
volunteer and the corresponding secretary of the Jane Jones Food Pantry,
is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, and works with Kid’s Kollege.
Debbie was appointed to the board of Parsons-Bruce Art Association in
2016. She and her husband reside in South Boston. |
