Meredith H. Bowman Meredith has lived in South Boston since
1962 except for a brief period. She has always placed a high priority on
community involvement and has been active in local schools, churches,
and civic organizations. She is a past president of Southside Master
Gardeners and in the 80's, she spearheaded an initiative to purchase
trees for the grounds of Halifax County High School. Meredith has served
on the Prizery, Halifax County Cancer Association, and the Halifax-South
Boston Regional Library boards. Other volunteer projects, past and
present, include the local soup kitchen, hospice, and downtown
beautification. She currently serves on the board of Parsons-Bruce Art
Association, Halifax-South Boston Regional Library, and her church.
Meredith has raised three sons in this community and has seven
grandchildren. Her interests and hobbies include education, travel,
gardening, walking, and reading. |
